He currently serves as principal and chief medical officer with The Greeley Company, a nationally respected healthcare solutions firm. He brings more than 25 years of healthcare management and leadership experience to his work with physicians, hospitals, and healthcare systems across the country.
With his distinctive combination of medical, healthcare, and management acumen, Dr. Sheff develops tailored solutions to the unique needs of physicians, hospitals and healthcare systems. He consults, authors, and presents on a wide range of healthcare management and leadership issues, including governance, strategic planning, physician-hospital alignment, physician leadership development, conflict management, credentialing, peer review, disruptive physician management, physician employment and contracting, health care systems, service line management, and helping physicians rediscover the joy of medicine.
Prior to joining The Greeley Company, Dr. Sheff served as VPMA, president of an independent practice association, medical director of a physician-hospital organization, president of a corporation that owned and operated physician practices, and a group practice medical director. He taught at Tufts University School of Medicine and served as chair of the Massachusetts Academy of Family Practice Research Committee.
Dr. Sheff is one of The Greeley Company’s leading national speakers. His plenary session that kicks off a number of Greeley’s national seminars, entitled “What We Are Doing in Healthcare Is Not Sustainable: Will you be part of the solution or part of the problem?” is a hard hitting critique of the current US healthcare system that creates a compelling burning platform for change, highlighting the fundamental changes needed to make healthcare sustainable for all of us.

Dr. Sheff is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and the Brown University residency program in family medicine. He was an undergraduate at Cornell University and recipient of the Keasbey Scholarship for the study of politics and philosophy at Oxford University.
